Happy Birthday, America—Let’s Blow Stuff Up!

by admin on July 19, 2010

Like every year, we celebrated the 4th of July with a family gathering for dinner where we over-consumed and then headed over to the golf course for the fireworks.  Sage was SO stoked this year about the fireworks.  She had been talking non-stop about them for weeks—and if you know Sage, she talks non-stop.  I was particularly interested in seeing what Phoenix’s reaction would be since last year he was only a few months old.

Sage saddled up with Gregg, and I took on Phoenix the Terrible.  Phoenix had a serious case of the wiggles all the way until the first explosion went off, which finally chilled him out and had his full attention.

Sage was suddenly not so excited by the fireworks.  Perhaps she forgot that she is afraid of fireworks??  Phoenix was in awe, maybe a little unsure, but totally into to it.  He would do surprise ‘gasps’, but eventually he seemed to get bored with them.

As we were walking back to the car, Sage said, “I think I’ve had enough fireworks for now.”
